What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Unless the cameras are rolling and it’s the Billboard Music Awards.

Among the artists up for prizes and set to perform at the Sin City-set show, the event will also hand out awards to some of the industry’s biggest icons, including Prince (Billboard Icon Award winner) and Madonna (Top Touring Artist winner). The fete will go down at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Sin City, with “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan set to host. Need a little cheat sheet for what else will happen when the show airs at 8 p.m. ET on ABC? Well, MTV News has your back.

A Who’s Who
Wondering who might be attending the festivities? These presenters never got a party invite they didn’t respond “yes” to. So, who will be handing out the prizes this weekend? The list of presenters includes luminaries like Cee Lo Green, Kelly Rowland, Hayden Panettiere, Chloe Grace Moretz, Ke$ha, Carly Rae Jepsen, Psy, LMFAO’s Sky Blu and Wiz Khalifa.

Going Stag
Justin Bieber might be hard at work on new music, but he’ll take the stage and perform an unreleased Believe mid-tempo jam, “Take You.” Will he run into Selena Gomez at the bash? Yes! She’s set to perform “Come Get It.”

Other highly anticipated performances include, Chris Brown (“Fine China”), Icona Pop (“I Love It”), Bruno Mars (“Treasure”), Miguel (“Adorn”), Macklemore Ryan Lewis (“Thrift Shop”), Ed Sheeran (“Lego House”) and his pal and tourmate Taylor Swift (“22″).

Friends With (Musical) Benefits
Not enough Bieber for you? Well, he’s got your back. He’ll take the stage with will.i.am (and hopefully not as a hologram) to bring “#thatpower” to the show. Other big match-ups will include Christina Aguilera and Pitbull, along with a special guest, for “Feel This Moment,” David Guetta, Ne-Yo and Akon for “Play Hard” and Pitbull will be back for more. He’ll also take the stage with Jennifer Lopez for “Live It Up.”

Perhaps what might go down as the buzziest team-up will be when Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne perform “High School.” Will they finally kiss? Only time will tell.

And The Winner Is…
We don’t know who has won anything yet, but the odds are in the favors of Taylor Swift, Fun. and Maroon 5, as they are all top nominees of the night with 11 nods each. But don’t count Adele out. Despite flying mostly under the radar, she still managed to snag a handful of awards for her 2011 release, 21, including Top Billboard 200 album.

“We Can’t Stop”
Miley Cyrus just might steal the show. She announced the name of her Mike Will Made It-produced single, “We Can’t Stop,” Thursday night and has long-teased that she plans on doing something at the show to promote it. She’s billed as a presenter, but she noted, “Big announcement about #wecantstop coming @billboard.” Maybe the hype is for nothing and she’ll just pull a Macy Gray.

Candice Glover has been crowned the champion of “American Idol” Season 12, and millions of people have opinions on that. One opinion in particular — that of “Idol” judge Nicki Minaj — is definitely in favor of Candice’s win. Minaj spoke to reporters right after the finale show, explaining why she didn’t perform on the show and why Candice was her pick.

Why didn’t you perform tonight?

Nicki Minaj: Well, I had already committed to the Billboard Awards to perform my single, and so I wasn’t allowed to perform on “Idol” and perform on Billboard. And also I was supposed to premiere my “High School” video on “Idol,” but they said it was too risque.

Do you think Candice was the right singer to win?

Nicki Minaj: Absolutely. Absolutely. I predicted that she would win, so someone owes me money. But I think that Candice is like the real — I hate using “Cinderella story,” but it kind of feels like that since we saw the video of her last week going home and we saw her family and her community. And it just felt like, “Oh my God.”

And then her voice has always surpassed everyone, every night. And I’m so happy that America got it right and did this based on true talent.

To be completely honest, I think all five of our girls in the Top 5, I think that they all are going to have big careers if they want it. But Candice deserved to win.

Are you working on anything new?

Nicki Minaj: Yes, I’m working on new music for my Barbs. I have tons of features about to come out, and then in July I’m working on my official third album.

Will you be returning to “Idol” as a judge next year?

Nicki Minaj Leaving ‘American Idol’ (REPORT) – Huffington Post

After a season full of feuds, drama and outrageous outfits, Nicki Minaj is stepping down as an “American Idol” judge.

“It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to ‘Idol,’” an insider reportedly told Us Weekly, adding that she would be shifting her focus back to her music career. “She’s OK with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.”

The news of Nicki’s departure comes shortly after Randy Jackson announced that he would be stepping down from the series after serving as a judge for 12 seasons.

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” Jackson said in a statement last week. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

Although there’s no word on what’s next for Mariah Carey and Keith Urban, rumor has it that they won’t be returning either.

“All four are gone,” an insider told The Wrap earlier this month. “They feel they’ve lost their core audience and they want it back.”

The season finale of “American Idol” airs on Thurs., May 16 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Could Nicki Minaj be the next to leave the struggling “American Idol?” It appears so according to a report in Us Weekly.

Citing unnamed sources, the magazine says Minaj won’t be back on “Idol” when it returns for its 13th season. Instead, the singer will be focusing on her next album, touring and endorsements.

This report comes just days after longtime “Idol” judge Randy Jackson announced that the show’s 12th season would be his last.

Speaking to reporters Monday in advance of the Fox network’s presentation to advertisers, Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said that all of “Idol’s” judges were welcome back, but that “everything at this point is on the table.”

With Jackson and now possibly Minaj out the door, that leaves just Mariah Carey and Keith Urban as the remaining judges on the once-mighty singing competition show that has sunk by double digits in ratings over the last season.

Minaj and Carey provided a bit of off-screen drama with their reported feud, but it apparently wasn’t enough to re-ignite interest in the show that was once at the top of the Nielsens.

One thing is for sure: The next season of “Idol” will have just three judges, a return to the show’s original format, when Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Jackson ruled the airwaves from behind their conspicuously arranged Coca Cola cups.

PHILADELPHIA – Chip Kelly’s practices move quickly. Too quickly.

Even, sometimes, for Kelly.

That much became clear Monday, late in the Philadelphia Eagles’ first organized team activities practice, when the rookie NFL coach saw something fullback and tight end Emil Igwenagu did incorrectly while running a route.

Kelly called out for Igwenagu, but the second-year player didn’t hear him over the music. So Kelly started walking toward him, but stopped when he realized the next play was about to be run. There’s officially a new coach and a new practice tempo in town.

“We’re so used to getting in the huddle and going back and talking to coach and getting a coaching point. There’s no time for that,” said Michael Vick, who split first-team reps at quarterback with Nick Foles. “You’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go. That was my biggest thing. I was looking at (offensive coordinator Pat) Shurmur for a tip or Chip for a tip to see if I did it the right way.

“We just gotta keep going, and that’s good because that’s what you’ve gotta do in the game. Everything’s not going to be perfect, so you’ve got to keep going and keep moving.”

These players were moving all right — from station to station, drill to drill and even side to side while dancing to the music.

Van Halen, AC/DC, the Dropkick Murphys, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull and Shakira – you name it, it’s on Kelly’s in-practice iPod. The only time the music stops is during the “teaching” periods when a computerized voice that sounds a lot like like Hal from 2001: A Space Odyssey announces the next period.

That film was Stanley Kubrick’s view of the future. This is the future of the NFL, Kelly style, in which most corrections are made in the classroom, not on the field.

“There’s not very much standing around,” wide receiver Jeremy Maclin said. “If you catch the ball, there’s not much time to celebrate. If you drop a ball, there’s not much time to get down on yourself. You have to get back to the line and run the next play.”

With a grin Maclin added of the music, “Sometimes, you catch yourself nodding a little bit, but you understand what’s going on.”

What’s going on is Kelly has his reasons. He’s been considered a revolutionary coach with his offensive scheme but also the tempo and tactics he’s used since his days as the Oregon coach. Earlier this offseason, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told USA TODAY Sports he heard a pounding bass line coming from the auditorium. Roseman walked into the room and was told by special teams coordinator Dave Fipp that the purpose of the music was to get the players’ “neurological pathways open.”

Kelly would explain the full reasoning for the music at practice to reporters. But like an on-field correction, there’s no time for that.

“There’s a lot of science behind it,” Kelly said, “but I’ve got 12 minutes left in this (press conference), so I can’t really get into the details of it.”

The players seem to think the music is all about communication. As for the tempo, well, that’s what they’re expecting on Sundays in the fall. Right now, it’s about getting conditioned to run at that pace.

Even before the play is over, as a defensive player is giving a light tap to the ball carrier to signify a tackle in these limited-contact drills, the coaches on the sideline are already signaling in the next play call.

“Quick, it’s quick, we run a bunch of plays at a time. It’s quick,” left tackle Jason Peters said, speaking nearly as quickly as Kelly.

Asked how the big guys up front are holding up, Peters grinned and said, “We’ll be all right. We’re either going to score quick or sit down quick.”

Monday was the first day of full-team OTAs, so there was more sitting than scoring. But don’t misunderstand here. Kelly’s practices are fast, well-choreographed, hip and different, but they include the same mistakes and gaffes as any other team’s sessions in May.

Vick and running back Chris Polk fumbled a handoff exchange. Foles came out of the huddle looking confused on one play. DeSean Jackson muffed a punt. The final period included way too many false starts and defenders jumping offsides.

But again, it’s May. And the point of these practices is to get acclimated to the system and the pace.

“You’ve got 90 guys (on the roster) now, so I know you hear a lot of guys (say), ‘I didn’t get a chance to get my reps,’” Kelly said. “I don’t think anybody on our team is going to complain about the amount of reps they got.”

Quarterback Dennis Dixon, who played for Kelly at Oregon, seemed up to speed – literally and figuratively. He was often clapping his hands, as if to tell his teammates, “Let’s move!”

Foles got a pat on the backside from Kelly when the quarterback hit Riley Cooper up the middle after carrying out a shotgun-draw play action. Vick got a head nod and clap from Kelly after firing a lateral overhand as he sprinted to his right on an option play. What would be a no-no in any other team’s offense was exactly what Kelly wanted to see on that play.

Meanwhile — and this has nothing to do with the offense but rather more of the science Kelly doesn’t have time to explain — a man with a camera at the top of a pole (a team spokesman called it “pole cam,” fittingly enough) was running around the field to capture angles apparently the cameras high above the field on the scissor lifts can’t see.

Above their heads, a police helicopter buzzed a few times. Maybe in response to neighbors’ complaints about the noise?

They should get used to it. The players are.

“We know we can’t practice full-speed for the entire time we’re out there, so it’s got to be short bursts, but the game of football is short bursts,” Kelly said. “It’s really an anaerobic sport when you look at it because you’re going hard for five to six second and then you’re taking a break. That’s what we’re trying to get accomplished with these guys.”

The star stayed quiet on whether she would be returning to the show for another season

Following Randy Jackson’s announcement that he would not be returning to American Idol, speculation over whether the remaining judges – Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey – would be back, have reached fever pitch.

However, Nicki’s uncertain future as a judge hasn’t stopped her from gushing about her experience on the show when she explained to American Idol host and Radio DJ, Ryan Seacrest that she was “really happy” to be on the panel.

Commenting on her experience on American Idol – which comes to an end this week – so far, MTV News reported the ‘Pound The Alarm star saying: “It’s kind of sad that what people read all the time is only when something is negative.

“But they don’t realise that we built a family. I feel happy here and I have to thank them for giving me this chance. They could have picked anyone in the world. And they picked me. So that’s all I’ll say about that.”

Nicki has said she’s “happy” on the show (WENN)

Staying elusive on the question everyone wants the answer to over whether she’ll be back on the show or not, Nicki replied: “That’s a million-dollar question”, before adding:

“I have to say this all the time, but I want people to know it’s genuinely from my heart. I love the people on ‘Idol.’ I genuinely do. If I had to do this all over again, I would have done ‘Idol’. Because it’s fun, it’s laughs.”

Randy’s announcement that he would be giving up his seat on the panel came during last week’s American Idol where Candice Glover and Kree Harrison made it through to the final.

In a statement to E! News, the judge who has been a judge on the show since it began, said:”Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry.

“It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

Nicki Minaj: Music business is like one big popularity contest

The mean girls got Nicki Minaj ready for a music career — and now she’s not afraid to say she doesn’t care what they think.

“People treat this business like it’s high school,” she tells Teen Vogue. “It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.”

The rapper says she changed schools a lot growing up. ‘I’d have to face the task of making new friends. I dreaded it. I had butterflies in my stomach each time,’ she told Teen Vogue.

Minaj, the rapper-turned-’American Idol’ judge, tells the magazine that attitude comes from tough times growing up.

“Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends. I dreaded it. I had butterflies in my stomach each time: Are people going to like or hate me? … Sometimes there’d be a fight, sometimes not. I let people know I wasn’t going to be pushed around,” she tells Teen Vogue.

“My journey to who I am today began on MySpace,” she says. “I love getting real opinions from people.”

But maybe not all the opinions.

“I used to read the bad things people said about me,” says Minaj, a regular on Twitter. “Then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power. I tell teens, if you’re having a problem, there’s nothing wrong with deleting your social media. If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it’s poison.”
